The role:

Material Agent.

Working pattern:  Days: Monday to Friday.

BAEW (Avionics) currently has an exciting opportunity for the above position within the Material Support team playing a crucial role in supporting the efficient flow of inventory through the business to ensure operational and production targets are achieved.    

What you’ll do

As a Material Agent, you will be responsible for:

• Managing the purchase order book and SAP ensuring the timely delivery of materials to meet TRT and other due dates.
• Acting as the primary interface with BAEW Avionics’ key stakeholders and providing delivery information to internal workshops and Engineering Supply Chain.
• Ensuring quality standards are consistently adhered to.
• Managing the recoveries process to ensure timely payments are made to British Airways.
• Managing external repairs for allocated workshops and taking responsibility for meeting agreed performance criteria.
• Approving repair quotations and scrap requests, negotiating best value, and supporting cost-saving initiatives with suppliers.
• Participating in continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to business objectives.

You will communicate clearly and professionally, remain uncompromising in your approach to safety, security, process and regulatory requirements, and bring strong organisational skills, accuracy and a continuous focus on supporting the next operational task.

Your experience:

You will hold a high degree of business awareness and be fully conversant with Microsoft Office applications. Experience of working in an operational area and having a relevant business/technical qualification would be desirable. You will bring a practical approach to work, with good attention to detail and the ability to follow established processes accurately in a busy, safety-focused setting along with a willingness to learn new systems, procedures and ways of working to support the wider operation.
