A career without limits

As the nation’s flag carrier, we take great pride in connecting Britain with the world and the world with Britain.

It’s something we’ve been doing for over 100 years, ever since we launched the world’s first international scheduled air service between London and Paris.

This originality has been in our blood since day one. It’s the spirit we share with the people that fly with us, our partners, and our colleagues.

So, whether you are a reassuring voice on the end of a phone, a smile at the door, under a wing keeping the turbines spinning or landing us gently in far-flung places, a job at British Airways is yours to make.

We know great things can happen when you’re inspired to think big and bring your ambition to work every day, which is why, at British Airways the sky is never the limit.

The role:

Regional Airports Manager, Eastern Europe

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join the Worldwide Airports Europe Leadership Team as we continue our journey toward building a Better BA. We are looking for a thoughtful, people‑focused operational and strategic leader to drive performance and innovation across our Eastern Europe airport operations.

Based in the UK, this role will work very closely with the Regional General Manager for Northern Europe and collaborate across the wider WWA network to deliver exceptional results across one of our most operationally critical regions.
This is a dynamic and high‑impact leadership role where you will lead a team of British Airways colleagues across Eastern Europe to deliver exceptional safety, operational and customer performance. You will play a critical role in shaping and executing a strategic vision that aligns with departmental and wider business objectives. As part of the leadership team, you’ll be accountable for delivering key safety, operational, customer and cost targets, while identifying innovative ways to optimise performance and resilience across a complex and fast‑moving operation.
You’ll be a forward‑thinking airport operations leader with a strong focus on performance improvement and customer experience. Analytical and data‑driven, you’ll bring strong operational and strategic thinking, people leadership and adaptability.

You’ll also build trusted relationships with suppliers, airport authorities and internal stakeholders to ensure consistent, high‑quality delivery across the region.

Please note this role will involve regular travel across Eastern Europe.

What you’ll do:

  • Accountable for Airport Manager performance across our Eastern Europe stations, ensuring Airport Managers feel empowered to make timely, customer‑focused and commercially minded decisions.
  • Support Airport Managers to deliver strong safety performance through the effective use of tools within the Safety Management System.
  • Inspire, motivate and lead airport teams, whilst shaping and delivering our customer service strategy across the region.
  • Ensure suppliers consistently deliver against business expectations, proactively managing performance and driving corrective action in partnership with the Regional Supplier team.
  • Develop and own the Eastern Europe business plan, identifying, delivering and tracking initiatives throughout the full business planning life-cycle.
  • Work closely with the Regional General Manager to identify trends, risks and opportunities, driving continuous improvement across safety, operational performance and customer outcomes.

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

You will be a people‑centred leader who inspires, motivates and empowers teams through trust, curiosity and accountability. You bring a deep understanding of airport operations, with proven experience delivering performance across complex, high‑volume environments both above and below the wing. A colleague who is confident influencing a wide range of stakeholders and work effectively with suppliers, airport authorities and internal partners to drive alignment and results, with a strong data‑driven mindset. Using insight and analysis to inform decisions, supported by solid Excel capability, AI implementation and the ability to clearly communicate findings to senior stakeholders.

Your experience of leading complex, multi‑strand programmes in fast‑paced operational environments, combined with your ability to anticipate future challenges, enables you to embed a proactive, delivery‑focused and resilient culture, driven by a passion for excellence. You collaborate effectively across functions, build strong relationships across departments and leadership teams, and bring excellent interpersonal and communication skills that adapt confidently to a wide range of operational and strategic situations.

Your experience:

  • Airport operations expertise
  • People leadership across dispersed teams
  • Change and transformation delivery
  • Strong safety and security awareness
  • Data and performance analytics
  • Supplier and stakeholder management

Please note, this role is not approved for an international assignment
