The role: Procurement Executive. 

An opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Executive to join the business on a 12-month fixed-term contract, working 37.5 hours per week. We would also welcome applications from candidates seeking part-time hours, with the role available on a 22.5-hour-per-week basis.

Salary: £37,000 – £43,000 per annum (pro rata for the length of the fixed-term contract).

This role provides support and expertise on procurement and supplier management matters to stakeholders across the organisation.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide Procurement and supplier management-orientated support to stakeholders with invoice and charging queries and refer more detailed or contractual matters to the applicable member of the Procurement team for resolution.
  • Lead on procurement and supplier management activity for discrete areas/services either individually or supported by the team depending on complexity
  • Represent on group-wide procurement activities, to uphold our interests and ensure that outcomes reflect our requirements.
  • Uphold effective relationships across our wider organisation to realise benefits through synergies where appropriate.
  • Maintain the supplier contract database and provide the team with reliable forward-looking data for effective planning of workloads
  • Ensure key contract information on file is correct and advise stakeholders of upcoming contract end dates with sufficient notice to ensure appropriate action.

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

  • Understanding of procurement principles, tools and processes, with the ability to support stakeholders and seek guidance when required.
  • Good communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders across the business
  • Understanding of key contract terms and commercial agreements, with the ability to support contract administration and review activities.
  • Ability to build positive and effective working relationships with both external and internal stakeholders
  • Inquisitive and curious to identify the best solutions and not just the ‘first answer’
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and open-ended propositions
  • Resilience in the face of challenging scenarios
  • Willingness to ask difficult questions
  • Flexibility and agility in approach, adapting to the needs of the situation
  • A continuous improvement mindset and always seeking to do things better

Your experience:

  • Experience and exposure of working with third parties and suppliers, preferably within a regulated environment.
  • Awareness or exposure to elements of the procurement lifecycle including initial engagement, tendering, proposal evaluation, supplier onboarding and contract and supplier management.
  • Has worked with financial datasets and proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and SharePoint.
  • Part-CIPS qualified or willingness to work toward
