The role: Technical Engineer - eOps

A digital information is leveraged to seamlessly integrate the aircraft’s on-board systems with the IT infrastructure on the ground. This integration creates a robust connection between the aircraft and operational systems, streamlining workflows and ensuring data flows efficiently.

eOps represents an innovative stride forward in aviation technology, supporting greater efficiency and performance in aircraft operations. By bridging the gap between on-board systems and ground-based IT, eOps Technical Engineers are helping to optimize processes, reduce delays, and enhance reliability across the board.

What you’ll do:

Part M ATA 46 System, support as agreed for ATA 23, 42,44 and 45, Field Loadable Software management, Security and Life Certificate management, Aircraft IP communication, EFB support to Flight Ops and New Aircraft Delivery support.

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

  • Ability to hold CAA / EASA approvals or BA company approvals (e.g. Part-21J Part-145 & Part-M) (Essential)
  • HNC / HND or equivalent in an Aerospace Engineering or related subject (Essential)
  • Recognised Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent industry experience (Essential)
  • Degree in an Aerospace Engineering subject (Desirable)
  • EASA pt66 Licence (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of safety and quality management systems (Essential)
  • Knowledge of regulations including EASA Part M, Part 145 and Part 21. (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of company processes and procedures applicable to the work environment & people (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of at least one aircraft, engine, product type design, mechanical & electrical systems, structures, materials & supporting ground systems. (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of maintenance programmes, technical reliability and condition monitoring tools and processes. (Essential)
