Airport Manager - Scotland

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Worldwide Airports Directorate in this operational role as a Airport Manager - Scotland!

This is a crucial role, supporting the Regional Airports Manager - UK & Ireland, by providing safety and operational oversight, and other critical functions, all whilst leading and empowering multiple suppliers and partners, across 4 airports in Scotland with a combined total of over 200 weekly departures.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the operational performance delivery of all suppliers at your airports.
  • Support your Deputy Airport Manager in the delivery of agreed targets and goals in addition to the control of expenditure.
  • You will be accountable for all required safety activities in your airports, ensuring they are fulfilled in a set and timely manner. This includes (but is not limited to) LPM, Audits, Station Emergency Response Procedures, and BCP's.
  • Act as the Local Emergency Coordinator (LEC).
  • Represent British Airways' interests within your airports; AOC, Monthly Airport Authority Account Meetings, etc.
  • Ensure that all airport activities are undertaken in compliance with BA’s corporate security and safety instructions, local security standards.
  • Deputise for your APM colleagues during absence, maintaining effective links with relevant Head Office departments and service partners for day-to-day operational issues.
  • Ensure that the quality of service delivered is in line with service level and contractual agreements. Obtain the highest level of performance and motivation through successful communication and influencing skills
  • Ensure all local resources are utilised in such a manner that customer satisfaction and revenue is maximised, and efficiency is increased within given constraints.

  • You will demonstrate self-motivation, as well as having the ability to motivate both internal and external teams.
  • You will be a true advocate and ambassador for British Airways across Scotland.

Your experience:

Airport operations experience, or exposure to operational decision making.

Experience of managing suppliers in an operational environment.

A proven track record, demonstrating experience of decision making whilst balancing the complex needs of the operation, our people and the business.
