The role: Heathrow Investigations Manager
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Heathrow Safety and Security team as a Heathrow Investigations Manager, leading a dedicated Heathrow Safety Investigation Leads, responsible for delivery of high-quality Safety and Security investigations in a timely manner.
What you’ll do:
You will lead a team of 7 highly motivated and engaged Heathrow Investigation Leads and Heathrow Investigation Support team members representing Heathrow Safety and Security for Terminals 5 & 3 across both Customer and Ground Operation portfolio areas. As an experienced people manager, you will be accountable for the performance and development of the team, whilst promoting a high-performance culture to enable your team to fulfil their full potential. You will be driven to succeed and to inspire the same in others, leading, managing, and motivating the Heathrow Investigations team to manage and deliver high quality safety and security investigations as well as the provision of meaningful data to identify and track trends across Heathrow Operations, contributing to a safe and secure workplace. In this exciting role, you will assure the standard for complex investigations into accidents and incidents related to assets, employees or third parties engaged in the Heathrow operation; ensuring the delivery of coherent, accurate and consistent reports identifying root cause and causal factors to the highest investigative standards and with measurable, achievable recommendations to prevent recurrence. Other areas of responsibility will include identifying trends and driving the application and continuous development of the British Airways safety behaviours by effectively communicating with key stakeholders to promote a Just Safety culture and effective Safety Management System.
What you’ll bring to British Airways:
Your leadership will champion high engagement levels by creating an empowering work environment where colleagues are recognised for their contributions to safety and security. You'll play a key role in driving and influencing our vision, with outstanding stakeholder management crucial for effective collaboration and promoting the Safety First programme. Substantial operational experience within Heathrow Operations is essential as is the ability to work collaboratively across departments within a change environment. The role requires an ability to hold an airside pass and an airside driving permit.
