The role: Training Operations Lead
We are recruiting for a full time and a part time position,
Please note this role is a SHIFT BASED/ 4 on 4 off rota. Primarily located at the Global Learning Academy, Technical Block C, Heathrow. Shift times vary from 0600-2200.
As a Training Operations Lead you’ll be joining the Global Learning Academy (GLA), a vital part of British Airways that ensures our people are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and behaviours to deliver exceptional service and operate safely and efficiently. The GLA plays a critical role in maintaining regulatory compliance, supporting operational excellence, and enhancing the learning experience across the airline.
What You’ll Do
As Training Operations Lead, you’ll be responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of training operations at the GLA. You’ll lead a high-performing team of Training Operations Coordinators, ensuring smooth execution of training logistics and a positive delegate experience.
Your key accountabilities include:
- Providing on-the-day operational oversight and tactical recovery across training areas.
- Supporting the delivery of the GLA Operational Training Plan and liaising with the Operations Planning team.
- Acting as Deputy Building Controller during evacuations and supporting contingency planning.
- Managing delegate issues including failures, resits, and contract terminations.
- Ensuring compliance with CAA/EASA regulations and conducting H&S audits.
- Leading incident meetings and enacting business continuity plans.
- Maintaining classroom standards and ensuring excellent customer experience in GLA facilities.
- Communicating critical updates and collaborating with stakeholders to mitigate risks.

Your Experience
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- Proven experience in operational environments
- Strong people engagement and development skills
- Strong people management skills and experience, with people policy implementation knowledge
- Understanding of GDPR compliance and Business Continuity Planning
- Stakeholder management experience
