Gatwick Ground Services (GGS) provide airport ground operations at London Gatwick and London City Airports. As a wholly owned British Airways subsidiary we take great pride in delivering the same impeccable customer service and fully comprehensive training. Gatwick Ground Services was established in 2016, to support the ramp operations of British Airways at Gatwick. Following its success, the company branched into Aircraft Cleaning in 2018. In 2020, Passenger Services formed the newest department within the GGS business to provide an all-round ground handling option.
Our operations across two stations supports British Airways, Air India, Iberia Express, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines and Vueling Airlines providing a complete ground handling solution.

The role:
HR Manager
This is a hugely exciting opportunity to join the Gatwick Ground Services Senior Leadership Group as HR Manager. Based at London Gatwick but also supporting our operation at London City; the purpose of this role is to provide practical, day‑to‑day people support to leaders and teams, ensuring policies are applied fairly, issues are handled consistently, and colleagues are supported to perform at their best.
What you'll do:
- Support the SHRM with the delivery of GGS People Plan and other key activity e.g. HR lifecycle, strategic initiatives and business changes.
- Coach and guide people managers dealing with challenging issues, taking action to improve overall manager capability in the client area
- Guide managers on critical people processes or queries (where self-service is not possible) e.g. protected conversations
- Monitor the delivery of key people policies within the client areas (e.g. ER casework), providing advice to line managers on complex or high-risk cases
- Supporting with reviewing existing people policies and processes and with the successful roll-out of new ones.
- Provide colleague data and insight supporting continuous improvement
- Resolving complex individual employee issues or helping clients to access support where no other resolution has been possible
- Support with OHI & engagement role out
- Act as second to SHRM

Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience of working in a generalist HR or people management role (essential)
- Experience of advising on complex ER cases (preferred)
- IR experience (preferred)
- CIPD (preferred)
- Must be able to obtain satisfactory 5 year background referencing in addition to a criminal record check to enable the issue of an airside pass

- In-depth knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices, especially with regards to Employee Relations matters
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite

Annual salary of £55,000, as well as eligibility to our Annual Incentive Plan.
