The role: Charter and Planning Associate
Salary range depending on experience:
- £34,860 to £38,730 (Manchester)
- £38,700 to £43K (London City Airport)
You’ll be part of the Charter and Planning team within BA Cityflyer’s Commercial & Customer directorate, supporting a varied and fast-moving area of the business.
You'll play a key role in delivering charter operations, working at the exciting interface between customers, commercial planning and airline operations, where no two programmes or days are the same.
You'll support the end‑to‑end planning and delivery of charter programmes, helping to ensure flights are operationally ready, compliant and delivered in line with customer and business requirements, while gaining broad exposure across internal and external stakeholders.
What you’ll do:
- Support the planning and delivery of ad hoc and series charter programmes for BA Cityflyer, with occasional support to BA Euroflyer.
- Coordinate charter set‑up and readiness activity, including ground handling, catering, operational systems and charter documentation.
- Act as a point of contact for charter queries, managing inboxes and responding to availability requests, while supporting pricing, quoting and contracting activity.
- Ensure timely and accurate communication of charter information, including pre‑departure briefings, manifests and special requirements.
- Work closely with Operations, Ground Operations, Air Operations, Catering and other stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant and efficient charter delivery.
- Support financial, operational and regulatory governance, including documentation and permit activity where required.
- Contribute to project and improvement activity across the Commercial & Customer team and provide out‑of‑hours support on occasion.
What you’ll bring to BA Cityflyer:
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Clear, professional communication skills, able to adapt style for different stakeholders.·
- A proactive, solutions‑focused approach in a fast‑paced operational environment.
- Confidence working independently while collaborating effectively as part of a wider team.
- Commercial awareness, with the ability to balance customer requirements, cost and revenue considerations.
- A continuous improvement mindset and a strong sense of ownership for delivery.
Your experience:
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Previous experience of working within an airline or aviation charter, planning, operations or commercial function is desirable.
- Knowledge of the airline/charter business/tour operations industry is desirable.
- Sound understanding of pricing structures within an airline environment is desirable.
- Knowledge of airline scheduling processes and systems is desirable.
