The role: Production Engineer

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Heathrow-based Production Engineering team creating work instructions for aircraft maintenance at Heathrow, Gatwick and some overseas facilities.

What you’ll do:

As a Production Engineer, you will be responsible for composing and maintaining maintenance instructions for aircraft modifications, inspections and routine maintenance tasks for both base maintenance and the terminal operation. You will be working closely with our Technical, Maintenance Programmes, Supply Chain and Production departments, interpreting technical data in order to produce fully engineered tasks for our engineers.

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

To succeed in the role you will need to be familiar with aircraft maintenance practices, maintenance programmes, technical documentation and regulatory requirements. You will need to be a confident self-starter and have good attention to detail, strong communication and collaboration skills, identify and acting upon opportunities for process improvements.

  • Ability to hold CAA approvals or BA company approvals,or HNC / HND or equivalent in an engineering subject - Essential
  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent industry experience - Essential
  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements and maintenance programmes - Desirable
  • Working knowledge of Part M interface with respect to production engineering responsibilities - Desirable
  • Broad understanding of safety /quality matters and human factors - Desirable
  • Broad understanding of aircraft and component maintenance practices - Desirable
