Head Office

British Airways never stops changing, adapting, and evolving.
It’s why we’re still here more than 100 years after our first scheduled international flight in 1919.
Staying ahead of the competition and giving our customers the best possible experience means we’re constantly identifying and introducing new technologies, products, and services.
Head Office is where many of our most innovative and original ideas are born, and where our transformation into a truly data-driven digital airline is taking flight.

Welcome to Waterside

Big ideas are born and brought to life at our Waterside Head Office. Located next to London’s Heathrow airport and covering a site that’s roughly the size of Regent’s Park, it’s home to thousands of our high-flying colleagues. It’s a truly unique place to work, and even has its own indoor cobbled street with shops, cafes, and restaurants.

Your journey to Head Office

Online Application:

The journey for Head Office roles will vary depending on what you apply for, but we’ll always ask you to complete an online application.

Assessment:

If you pass the initial screening, we might ask you to complete a further assessment which may include an ability test, personality questionnaire, or record yourself on video answering some pre-loaded interview questions. Don’t worry, it will all make sense once you start the process.

Interview:

What happens next depends on the role you have applied for. We’ll invite you to attend an interview, virtually or in person. This is often a one-stage process; however we may invite you to further stages for some roles, especially specialist or senior positions.

Offer:

If you have been successful, you’ll receive an offer from us followed by an e-contract on the application portal. This will give you access to our ‘Welcome’ site which will provide you with all the useful information you need to know before joining us.

Pre-employment checks:

Nearly there… We’ll then start your pre-employment and security checks; these include Criminal Record Checks (CRC) and, depending on the role, two or five-year pre-employment vetting in the form of references (from former employers or educational institutions, for example).

Sustainability

We’re not just delivering for our customers; we’re delivering for the planet and the communities we serve too. Here at British Airways, we’ve set out on our most important and ambitious journey yet - to a better, more sustainable future through our BA Better World programme.
