A career without limits

As the nation’s flag carrier, we take great pride in connecting Britain with the world and the world with Britain.

It’s something we’ve been doing for over 100 years, ever since we launched the world’s first international scheduled air service between London and Paris.

This originality has been in our blood since day one. It’s the spirit we share with the people that fly with us, our partners, and our colleagues.

So, whether you are a reassuring voice on the end of a phone, a smile at the door, under a wing keeping the turbines spinning or landing us gently in far-flung places, a job at British Airways is yours to make.

We know great things can happen when you’re inspired to think big and bring your ambition to work every day, which is why, at British Airways the sky is never the limit.

The role:

Business Resilience Manager

What happens when the unexpected hits an airline? Who keeps everything moving, protects the brand and makes sure customers and colleagues are looked after?

That’s where this role comes in.

Within Global Operations, the Business Resilience Manager sits at the centre of how British Airways prepares for, responds to and learns from disruption. From major operational events to evolving global risks, this team keeps the airline ready for anything and able to respond with confidence when it matters most.

It’s a visible, high-impact role. One day could be shaping long-term resilience strategy; the next, supporting a live operational response. No two days the same — but every day critical!

What you’ll do:

  • Shape and drive resilience, crisis management and business continuity across the airline
  • Lead and motivate a team, building capability and confidence
  • Design and embed resilience frameworks that work in the real world
  • Work across BA, partners and alliances to keep plans aligned and effective
  • Build strong external relationships to support emergency response
  • Make sure high-risk projects are set up to handle disruption from day one
  • Support colleagues during incidents — calm, clear, decisive
  • Keep improving how BA prepares, responds and recovers
  • Test and exercise plans so readiness isn’t just theoretical
  • Stay ahead of regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Step into live operational incidents when needed

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

A leader who stays calm when it counts. Someone who can cut through complexity, bring people together and keep momentum going — even when the path isn’t clear.

Strong instincts, sound judgement and the confidence to challenge and improve how things are done. Comfortable operating at pace, influencing senior stakeholders and turning ideas into action.

Clear thinking. Clear communication. And the ability to build trust quickly — especially when the pressure’s on!

Your experience:

  • Leadership experience in a fast-moving, operational environment
  • Strong stakeholder management across different teams and levels
  • Exposure to regulators, suppliers or crisis response environments
  • Understanding of resilience, crisis management or business continuity
  • Awareness of relevant regulation or emergency response requirements
  • Proven ability to make decisions under pressure
  • Experience delivering change or improvement initiatives
  • Able to travel internationally at short notice
  • Eligible for airside access (CRC compliant)
  • Resilience or business continuity accreditation (nice to have)

What we offer:

We believe that all the people who work with us should feel valued for the part they play. It’s one of the reasons our rewards go far beyond a competitive salary.

From the day you join us, you’ll get access to brilliant staff travel benefits including unlimited basic and premium standby tickets on British Airways flights. You’ll also receive up to 30 discounted ‘Hotline’ airfares per year for yourself, friends, and family.

At British Airways you’ll have the chance to take on new challenges and move forward in a way that feels right for you. We encourage all those who work for us to consider opportunities right across our business to help you develop and progress.

We never stand still, and we don’t expect our people to either.

Inclusion & Diversity

At British Airways we all have a part to play in creating an inclusive place to work. Diverse representation among our people is really important to us and we recognise that all our colleagues are uniquely different and bring their own originality, creativity and identity to work.

Inclusion and diversity is a key driver of innovation and we’re committed to creating a culture where everyone feels that they can be themselves. We’re looking for people from all backgrounds and cultures to join us and be a part of our journey to become a Better BA as we continue to connect Britain with the world and the world with Britain.
