The role:

Marketing Lead - Fixed Term Contract

Responsible for planning, developing and delivering BAEF and BAEF route specific marketing activity to drive profitability and increase awareness and consideration for BA at Gatwick and BAEF routes.

What you’ll do:

  • Gather, synthesise and interpret a full range of customer, commercial and competitor insight to understand route performance, customer needs and market environment to inform activity
  • Manage and deliver BAEF and BAEF route specific marketing activity across the full marketing mix including ATL campaigns, experiential, sponsorship, social media, CRM and digital performance – ability to manage multiple projects against tight timescales, prioritising accordingly
  • Effectively lead and manage external marketing agencies to successfully deliver activity
  • Ensure all marketing activity is delivered on time and within budget, and delivers impactful and quality output that meets the campaign brief and commercial need
  • Monitor performance of activity against defined metrics and derive learnings to optimise future plans
  • Plan and execute tourist board funded joint marketing activity securing buy-in from third parties to invest in BAEF campaigns
  • Feed in relevant local Gatwick market and route specific insight into central Marketing planning process to ensure efficient and effective delivery of BA campaigns to the end consumer
  • Collaborate with BA mainline marketing peers (ie other Marketing Leads) to ensure BAEF inclusion in campaigns and secure ongoing support

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

  • Able to generate marketing insights that translate into actionable briefs
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including influencing and negotiating
  • Highly resilient, not deterred by setbacks, and challenges the status quo to achieve desired results
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, capable of developing both short- and long-term plans
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills, with the ability to tailor communication to different audiences
  • Effectively influences by building relationships and working collaboratively
  • Capable of building strong relationships across different departments and with external partners (e.g., marketing agencies)

Your experience:

  • Educated to at least degree level or equivalent; or have demonstrable previous marketing experience
  • Previous experience in a similar marketing role, including campaign management, preferably within the airline/travel industry
  • Strong creative judgement with the ability to interpret and embed brand strategy, tone of voice, etc., throughout campaigns and other activities
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to interpret customer research and generate insights
  • Experience in managing marketing agencies (suppliers) and media planning
  • Proficient in marketing strategy implementation, demonstrating core marketing skills
