The role:

Airport Duty Officer - Permanent Full Time

Provide operational support to the airport duty manager and support our ground service provider in delivering a punctual, safe and reliable operation.

What you’ll do:

  • Providing the Airport Duty Manager with data gathered from visual inspections / audits
  • Provide information for the ADM to utilise resource effectively
  • Perform eSocc/ QAI inspections
  • Enable PTS delivery throughout the operational flow, e.g. from check-in all the way to final departure
  • Supporting the Airport Duty Manager with supplier relationship meetings ensuring all insights are taken away for collaborative working
  • Conduct ad-hoc checks/inspections at LGW
  • Perform & take ownership of PCI compliance at LGW
  • Conduct daily flight file checks, training record review and delay codes mitigation
  • Proactive issue resolution to minimise disruption and maintain a punctual and safe operation
  • Effective communication and collaboration with ADM and key stakeholders to ensure alignment on the operation
  • Timely and accurate data reporting to support performance improvements
  • Promotion and leadership of BA’s safety and security culture

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

  • Able to coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure business needs are met
  • Able to quickly build effective relationships at all levels and across a broad mix of cultures
  • Strong communications skills with the ability to present information clearly
  • Able to travel to locations throughout Europe when required to support wider ground operations team.
  • Hold a full driving licence (Desirable)

Your experience:

  • Experience of working at supervisory level in an operational area within the aviation/airline industry. (Desirable)
  • Experience in safety reporting (Essential)
  • Knowledge of BA-specific policies and procedures (Essential)
  • Experience in driving operational improvements and work toward agreed targets (Essential)
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications and experience of analysis using Excel, producing reports and presentations, etc.(Essential)
