This position will be based at Houston/ IAH.

Salary range $121,777- 148,839USD 

As a key member of the Worldwide Airports directorate in our key Americas region, this role leads teams across three airports (IAH/DFW/AUS) to deliver exceptional service within agreed performance standards and financial parameters. The Regional Airport Director assumes full accountability for station operations, our colleagues and third-party providers, ensuring compliance (safety, security) and audit requirements while maintaining a safe, secure and punctual operation.

Responsibility for achieving operational KPIs, managing budgets, negotiating with suppliers and fostering strong relationships with airport authorities, government agencies and internal teams.

The ideal candidate will have proven and credible background in end-to-end people and supplier management, crisis handling and the ability to inspire high performance while managing underperformance.

Accountabilities

  • Coach, develop and support a team of BA staff to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Create an environment that fosters high staff engagement.
  • Responsible for delivery of all station operational KPIs and customer service targets to agreed level.
  • Ensure appropriate service recovery processes are implemented and actioned.
  • Represent British Airways in all customer related issues and work with all local airport authorities to ensure the safe, efficient operation of the station.
  • Ensure full compliance with all safety and security processes, procedures and audit requirements.
  • Effectively manage budgets within agreed limits and ensure financial compliance with audit requirements.
  • Negotiate with suppliers within corporate parameters.
  • Maintain effective communication with GHA management, GHA staff, airport authorities, government agencies, colleagues and interdepartmental staff as required to successfully manage the airport operation.
  • Hold all key suppliers accountable to deliver agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Act as Hearing Officer, as required.
  • Drive continuous improvement with all suppliers
  • Ensure all administrative duties are completed on-time and to high standard.

Qualifications / Experience 

  • Airport operational experience (preferred)
  • People Management and/or Supplier Management experience 9required)
  • Experience of working cross functionally
  • Conflict management/crisis management
  • Working under pressure
  • Ability to work independently
  • Safety and security awareness
  • Proficient with MS Word / MS Excel / MS PowerPoint
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, associate degree, or equivalent, (required)
