The Role: Technical Consultant

We’re looking for a passionate and driven Technical Consultant to join our Commercial team at British Airways. In this exciting role, you’ll work directly with B2B customers to implement our cutting-edge distribution technology, New Distribution Technology (NDC). You’ll play a key part in shaping how our partners experience our tech, acting as the voice of the customer in how we evolve and develop our digital capabilities. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead technical consultation with B2B customers, helping them integrate to our British Airways’ NDC APIs, ensuring smooth and successful implementation. 
  • Translate customer needs into tailored implementation plans that ensure seamless integration into their business systems. 
  • Identify and manage technical risks, offering pragmatic solutions that keep projects on track. 
  • Provide end-user training as needed, ensuring customers are confident in using our systems. 
  • Foster strong working relationships with customer project teams, ensuring shared understanding of goals and technology. 
  • Juggle multiple engagements at once, prioritising effectively in a dynamic environment. 
  • Champion customer needs throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring we build what really matters. 
  • Stay ahead of trends in airline distribution and technology to inform your work and guide our strategy. 
  • Work collaboratively across Global Sales, NDC Product and other internal teams to deliver joined-up solutions.

Your Experience:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience). 
  • 3+ years working in technical consultancy, preferably with B2B customers. 
  • Proven experience in airline distribution or a strong understanding of the ecosystem. 
  • Knowledge of at least one high-level programming language and familiarity with software development processes.
