Job Description

A career without limits

As the nation’s flag carrier, we take great pride in connecting Britain with the world and the world with Britain.

It’s something we’ve been doing for over 100 years, ever since we launched the world’s first international scheduled air service between London and Paris.

This originality has been in our blood since day one. It’s the spirit we share with the people that fly with us, our partners, and our colleagues.

So, whether you are a reassuring voice on the end of a phone, a smile at the door, under a wing keeping the turbines spinning or landing us gently in far-flung places, a job at British Airways is yours to make.

We know great things can happen when you’re inspired to think big and bring your ambition to work every day, which is why, at British Airways the sky is never the limit.

The role:

  • Advocate for customer-centric design across the organisation, including senior leadership
  • Ensure design work aligns with British Airways’ brand and supports Ba.com development milestones
  • Shape visionary design work by contributing to the development of early-stage concepts, storyboards, and prototypes that bring forward-thinking ideas and service journeys to life
  • Communicate design rationale and value behind design decisions clearly to stakeholders and facilitate cross-functional collaboration
  • Balance creative ambition with practical constraints

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

  • Strong people management skills, with experience leading diverse design and research teams
  • A deep understanding of design, research and human-centred design principles, with the ability to apply these approaches to complex, long-term, or ambiguous challenges
  • Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods, including remote tools like Askable and UserTesting
  • Proficiency in prototyping and storytelling, using tools such as Figma to communicate ideas through visuals, interactive prototypes, and compelling narratives
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, stakeholder management, receptive to feedback, and effective at building relationships and influencing across functions
  • A proactive, flexible, and customer-focused mindset with a bias for action and results
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and confident in engaging with senior business leaders
  • A curious mindset, with a passion for emerging technologies, cultural trends, and evolving customer behaviours, and the confidence to challenge conventional approaches

Your experience:

  • A qualification in design or relevant experience is preferred.
  • Strong experience in UX or Product Design, with a strong portfolio of intuitive digital product designs
  • Proven experience in mobile application development and device-agnostic product delivery
  • Familiarity with agile environments and cross-functional collaboration with Product, Research, Content, and Development teams
