Head of Leisure Sales North America

Currently, British Airways has an exciting opportunity open for aHead of Leisure Sales North America.This is a remote role, open to applicants residing within a commutable distance of a BA destination airport and ideally an American Airlines hub airport. The role holder will be required to travel frequently.
This role is not open to international assignment and the successful candidate should hold the right to live and work in the USA.
The role
To drive share growth, fulfill revenue targets, and lead the commercial relationships with a portfolio of British Airways/Iberia leisure travel agencies and B2B partners in North America.
About the role
- Manage a portfolio of 60+ leisure accounts across the consolidator, cruise, tour operator, and regional online travel agency channels.
- Additionally, manage the British Airways/Iberia agency accounts and indirect sales in Canada.
- Within the Atlantic Joint Business, champion and advocate for British Airways/Iberia and JB leisure sales priorities.
- Lead a high performing team across the market. Recruit, train, coach, and develop team members to ensure personal objectives and sales strategies are met.
- Foster professional, productive and sustainable B2B partnerships with accounts through impactful account management practices.
- Engage in agency contract negotiation at leadership level and guide team negotiations.
- Continuously monitor and analyse performance data to drive revenue generating/share shifting actions.
- Ensure team’s efficiency and effectiveness of the sales opportunity pipeline.
- Drive team to monitor the commercial landscape and provide market intelligence, insights, and feedback.
- Develop, cultivate, and sustain collaborative and constructive relationships with internal stakeholders, AA and other joint business partners.
- Face of BA at industry and partner events in market.
- Engage at C suite and leadership levels on B2B matters including issue resolution and escalations.
- Promote, educate and drive NDC adoption across market.
- Overseeing British Airways’ revenue integrity and fraud prevention initiatives for the North American point of sale.
- Ensuring seamless processes pertaining to agency appointment, risk and debt management, and scope of appointment guidelines.
Requirements – About you
- Relevant commercial leadership experience within a commercial airline or applicable travel industry vertical (agency, hotel, car, consulting etc.).
- Minimum of 3 years account management or equivalent commercial experience (desirable).
- Experience negotiating complex agreements with demanding third-party organizations.
- Experience leading a dispersed sales or similar team of commercial professionals in a hybrid/remote working environment (essential).
- Experience of planning at strategic level
- Ability to achieve business objectives by execute plans and initiatives across a large portfolio of accounts.
- Being influential and engaging through impactful communication.
- Ability to work in self-directed, fast paced environment with outstanding resilience.
- Displaying an adaptive, agile, can-do attitude.
- Proficiency using modern analytical and data-visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau etc.) (essential)
- Knowledge of CRM management.
- Employment authorization to work in the US.
Salary range for the role is $145,000-$170,000*.
*The salary range advertised is for those residing within the New York Metropolitan area; salary ranges for applicants from other locations do not reflect the above and are competitive for each location.
