The role:
Duty Maintenance Manager – New York (JFK)
- To Manage a Station or Shift within their DMM accountability Region. Op Ex: $0.5M; Cap Ex: $50K; Revenue: Varies
- Team – Responsible for station Management in absence of Station Maintenance Manager
What you’ll do:
- To drive cultural and behavioural change aligning to the Corporate values of ‘How we work around here’ with the aim to support the Leading Global Premium Airline vision for BA.
- Management of manned and agency stations to defined measures of Quality, Cost, Delivery and Colleagues measures.
- To deliver cross regional projects to support the objectives and goals of Line Maintenance globally.
- To build on and strengthen the 3rdparty and internal customer partnerships to drive revenue improvement
- Provides operational support on stations. (May require shift work)
- Manage agency and 3rd party interfaces.
- Ensure the BA and Customer line maintenance operation for station/area operate to BA, Customer, EASA, CAA and/or FAA compliance standards.
- Manage the station or a portion of a station as directed by SMM or AMM to deliver operational, safety, quality and financial targets.
- Assist in Defining and leading the strategic plan for the region identifying growth and succession planning.
- Manage the continuous development and improvement of Line maintenance working practices and facilities to improve productivity and financial performance.

What you’ll bring to British Airways:
- Understands the BA business and operation and can develop plans appropriate to deliver against the business requirement.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to explain lead and deliver change. (Preferred)
- Strong people management skills at all levels (Preferred)
- An understanding of cultural diversity
- Must be able to travel to support the assigned area.
- Excellent diagnostic and repair skills.
- Smart appearance in a customer contact environment
- Significant aircraft maintenance experience
- Management and leadership of line engineers and support staff in a union environment. (Preferred)
- Information gathering, interpretation and decision

- Ability to interpret technical publications to make fact-based decisions in a complex operating

Your experience:
- UK CAA or FAA A&P license (preferred)
- Minimum 5 years Line Maintenance related experience within the Aircraft Maintenance Industry with a proven Performance Record.
- Unrestricted B1 (plus B2 optional) Any Type approvals B777, B787 or A380, A350 (Desirable)
- Valid full US driving license (or equivalent) (desirable)
- Ability to hold an airport restricted zone
- Ability to hold an airside driving
- Knowledgeable in HS&E for area of responsibility
- Knowledgeable in the aviation regulatory requirements for the area of responsibility
- Ability to communicate effectively with Flight Crew, Cabin crew and departments in at London-Heathrow (LHR) or Customer Airline bases.
