The role:

Regional Airport Manager, India & Maldives

A rare and exciting opportunity to join the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific Leadership team has arisen, based in India. We are looking for a thoughtful, people centric operational leader to join us to continue on our journey towards A Better BA. This role will lead our airport teams across India and the Maldives. We pride ourselves on our culture of empowerment, diversity and fun!

A dynamic role, you will lead a team of British Airways colleagues across your region to deliver exceptional safety, operational and customer performance. You will create and implement a strategic vision for your region that delivers the objectives of the department and the wider business.

You will have a firm eye on the future, understanding how trends and developments will influence and evolve the travel experience. You will be an expert in airport operations, and grow with making things better for our customers and our colleagues.

Please note you will need the right to live and work in India with the ability to hold an airside pass. The role can be based either in Delhi or Mumbai.

What you’ll do:

  • Accountable for Airport Manager performance at stations, ensuring that Airport Managers feel empowered to make speedy, customer focussed and commercially minded decisions.
  • Supports Airport Managers to deliver safety performance, through the effective use of tools within the safety management system.
  • Work with Supplier team to ensure suppliers deliver to expectations of the business, following up on performance as necessary.
  • Creates an environment for continues improvement, pushing boundaries, learning from success and mistakes.
  • Develops cluster’s BP & FP, identifying and delivering any initiatives and updates BP & FP on a regular basis.

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

  • A people centric leader; able to inspire, motivate and lead our teams with curiosity and empowerment
  • Comprehensive understanding of airport operations interfaces and how to deliver performance metrics across complex operations, both above and below wing.
  • Strong change leadership skills
  • Experience of leading sophisticated and diverse programmes of work
  • Able to forecast and predict future challenges to embed a non-reactive, delivery led culture.
  • Strong cross team working & collaboration skills, able to build and develop excellent cross-departmental relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing skills in a range of different scenarios.
