What are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will be technically-savvy, confident communicating with colleagues as well as internal and external stakeholders. The role will be a focal for IT system development and support functions in Engineering Base Maintenance, using a broad range of Microsoft Office 365 applications and other IT software. You’ll work alongside the Operations Project and Development Manager to continually improve standardised processes and systems, with the focus always being on service delivery and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will be given appropriate training and will have the opportunity to take part in a wide range of technical projects such as the SAP upgrade programme, mobile maintenance and building mobile apps.
Responsibilities:
- Identifying continuous improvement opportunities and contributing to a safe, secure, and effective Engineering Base Maintenance operation at LHR.
- Supports with system developments to drive process simplification, automation and improved efficiencies.
- Designing and developing apps, using Power BI and Power Automation.
- Supporting with system upgrades such as SAP EWS, Mobile Maintenance
- Maintenance of local BCP’s and SOP’s.
- Ensuring all technology developments meet the required compliance and regulatory standards to meet airworthiness.
- Automate manual processes and continuously identify new efficiencies.
- Identifies and builds collaborative relationships with key Technology stakeholders within engineering and across British Airways and IAG
- Acts as a technology SME; training, coaching and providing support to local practitioners.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Education to Level 4 (e.g. HNC, HND, FD) or educational equivalent or practical experience in Technology, IT and Aviation (Essential)
- Extensive experience using Microsoft Tools to build applications, workflows and spreadsheets (Essential)
- Proficient in all Microsoft O365 programmes
- Knowledge of IT network and infrastructure
- A responsible attitude towards safety and security in a demanding environment (Essential)
