The role: Technical Engineer - TSG Cabin

Cabin TSG (Technical Support Group) provides operational technical support to British Airways’ best in class maintenance organisation working in the Maintenance Operations Control department. This is a highly rewarding role which requires a detailed approach and resilience to a demanding workload, supporting the maintenance and repair of aircraft cabins to the high standard expected of British Airways. Given the complexity and variety of work, a successful individual will demonstrate creativity and excellence in engineering to provide solutions to meet our targets in delivering operational performance, customer satisfaction and fleet reliability.

Please note this is strictly a shift based role.  

What you’ll do:

  • Prepares and provides Part21 repair documentation to the business to enable our products and aircraft to continue to operate
  • Provides on site specialist technical support as required with due regard for safety, technical & regulatory for our maintenance queries
  • Analyses and helps our maintenance colleagues with CMM, IPC & AMM queries for the cabins
  • Monitors technical performance and develops corrective actions, evaluates industry & customer data
  • Supports simplification and process improvement initiatives
  • Supplier interface

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

  • Project management / prioritisation
  • Team player with people skills
  • Report and business plan writing skills
  • Sound knowledge of BA systems – or ability to learn quickly if external to BA
  • Customer driven with communication skills
  • Problem analysis / technical decision making
  • Self-motivated and able to manage change
  • Ability to interperate engineering drawings and manuals
  • Uncompromising in safety, security, process and regulatory requirements
  • Part M continued airworthiness focussed
  • Total advocate for engineering, will go the extra mile for the right result
  • Can make tough decisions and think of innovative solutions often under pressure
  • Clear and articulate communicator

Your experience:

  • Ability to hold CAA / approvals or BA company approvals
  • HNC / HND or equivalent in an engineering subject
  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent industry experience
  • To be able to hold a CCE privilege in Cabin Interiors within 4 months of starting
