A career without limits

As the nation’s flag carrier, we take great pride in connecting Britain with the world and the world with Britain.

It’s something we’ve been doing for over 100 years, ever since we launched the world’s first international scheduled air service between London and Paris.

This originality has been in our blood since day one. It’s the spirit we share with the people that fly with us, our partners, and our colleagues.

So, whether you are a reassuring voice on the end of a phone, a smile at the door, under a wing keeping the turbines spinning or landing us gently in far-flung places, a job at British Airways is yours to make.

We know great things can happen when you’re inspired to think big and bring your ambition to work every day, which is why, at British Airways the sky is never the limit.

The role: Supplier Performance Manager

You will have a critical role in nurturing strategic relationships with global and high-value suppliers, analysing performance data, and working collaboratively with Airport Operations teams and Worldwide airport stakeholders to achieve operational and financial targets.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in ground handling and relationship management, be analytically minded, resilient, thrive under pressure, agile, embrace and welcome change and effectively ensure suppliers deliver against their contractual obligations and in accordance with their service level agreements.

What you’ll do

Responsible for day-to-day supplier relationships, you will ensure a strong partnership between the airline and a portfolio of suppliers whom British Airways contract to deliver on its behalf. Like to travel? Well, travel is a requirement of the role to ensure in person interaction further developing those relationships.

This role will maintain adherence by suppliers to agreed standards using effective engagement to recognise excellent results whilst also challenge poor performance. Collaborating with suppliers and internal colleagues you'll ensure resolution and mitigations are implemented accordingly in a timely manner. With an analytical approach you'll use data to help drive decision making, discussion, recover service credit where applicable and deliver our supplier recognition award program.

As an expert in supplier management and relationships, you'll mentor and support to deliver change and solve issues. You will also be a contact for our suppliers allowing them to advance any concerns or feedback, relating to their contract.

Working closely with our Finance business partners, airport colleagues and IAG, you will promote the needs of British Airways during the procuring of ground services to ensure we partner with the right suppliers from the beginning of the relationship. With strong attention to detail, you'll supervise the procurement process to ensure that operational requirements can be delivered enabling both performance and financial objectives to be achieved. You will run supplier improvement plans where needed and lead readiness activity associated with new supplier contract awards, seasonal operations and airport start-ups. Whilst project management experience would be beneficial, an ability to prioritise, handle multiple projects and tasks against timelines, adapt to change and whilst working as a team is crucial!

You will be self-motivated, hardworking, proactive and solution focussed when resolving issues and challenges that arise. Your curiosity will ensure that no stone is left unturned in identifying the right course of action to take.

Representing an allocated region, your flexible and agile approach to work will ensure you are able to accommodate different time zones. You will attend performance reviews on behalf of Airport Operation colleagues, engaging with different levels of leadership from across the airline to share findings and opportunities, to deliver continuous improvement.

Collaborating with colleagues, you advocate and champion shared learning, knowledge and ways of working to implement alignment in approach whilst also being a Point of Contact for team members and business partners.

Your positive approach will ensure successes are recognised and celebrated!
