The role: Production Support Manager

Join our Base Maintenance Support Group at British Airways Engineering as an Production Support Manager, where you will play a critical role in improving the efficiency of aircraft maintenance productivity through the delivery of all facility, tooling and equipment requirements.

In this role you ensure all tools and equipment required to execute the Engineering casualty and scheduled maintenance plan are available and delivered to the right place at the right time and at the right cost. The role will lead the operational teams to deliver a world class service for BA Engineering and its contracted operational suppliers with effective intervention and escalation. Through root cause analysis and the development of tools and process, the role will deliver a robust and outstanding operational support in the most effective way.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifying continuous improvement opportunities that enable British Airways Engineering to become the safest and most reliable airline maintenance organisation in the world.
  • Enables Safety, Quality, Facilities and Compliance Forums and their associated reports.
  • Author of departmental Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work
  • Analyses health, safety and environment data, ensuring safe and compliant practices and procedures are implemented.
  • Performs investigations of health, safety and environmental related events and instigates preventative actions.
  • Carrying out safety checks, raising and reporting any faults or issues.
  • Provides oversight for all tooling and equipment tracking in the department.
  • Escalation point for all departmental facility issues and outstanding requests.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent level 3 qualification (Desirable)
  • Membership of a professional body (e.g. IOSH, IEMA) (desirable)
  • Ability to hold an Airside pass and Airside driving licence (Essential)
  • Full UK category B driving licence for a manual vehicle with no more than 3 penalty points (Essential)
  • A responsible attitude towards safety and security in a demanding environment (Essential)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (essential)
