The role:
Join our Base Maintenance Support Group at British Airways Engineering as an Operations Project & Development Manager, where you will shape the future of Base Maintenance operations by developing systems, technology and procedures in alignment with Engineering’s strategic goals.
Bridging the gap between BA Tech and the Engineering business using data and other analytics to assess processes, determine requirements and deliver recommendations. You will engage with business leaders and users to understand how changes to process, products, services, software and hardware can improve efficiencies and add value. You must be able to articulate ideas but also balance them against what’s technologically feasible and financially and functionally reasonable. Depending on the role, you might work with other data sets to improve products, hardware, tools, software, services or processes.
Responsibilities:
- Advising and implementing processes, systems and IT driven technology required to support the Base Maintenance strategic objectives.
- Identifies and builds collaborative relationships with key stakeholders within engineering and across British Airways and IAG to create technology-enabled solutions, through the introduction of new tools and the enhancement and exploitation of current tools and systems, creating positive operational and financial benefit.
- Subject matter expert for local system changes and new technologies; training, coaching and providing support to local stakeholders, including Technical Specialists and Planning.
- Participating in cross-functional projects to improve overall maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Defines and approves technical and compliance system solutions and interfaces, understanding the potential impact on the safe operation of aircraft and components.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Experience of training and supporting others in IT/Technical and delivering change
- An Engineering Degree, equivalent qualification or practical experience in Technology and/or Aviation (Essential).
- Extensive experience using Microsoft Tools (Essential)
- Proficient in all Microsoft O365 programmes (Essential).
- Experience of design, delivery and implementation of process and software changes.
- Good understanding of IT landscape in an Engineering and/or Aviation sector.
- Expert in embedding sustainable business improvement, using technology as a driver.
