The role:
Join our innovative IT Operations team at British Airways as a Network Engineer, where you'll play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the robust infrastructure that keeps our global airline connected. What you’ll do:
Design and implement resilient network solutions that support British Airways’ business needs.
Collaborate with project delivery teams to support network development across global sites.
Configure and maintain network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls.
Monitor network performance and proactively troubleshoot to ensure optimal service delivery.
Maintain security compliance by working closely with IT, Cyber Security, and service partners.
Deliver network maintenance, upgrades, and documentation with accuracy and clarity.
Provide training, guidance, and support to users and junior colleagues, contributing to a learning-focused culture.
Analyse network usage, forecast future capacity, and optimise bandwidth efficiency.
Engage in cross-team collaboration with developers, system administrators, and security professionals.
Contribute to incident resolution and business continuity through international travel as required.
What you’ll bring to British Airways:

Your experience:
Demonstrated experience in a Network Engineer or similar role.
Strong knowledge of protocols like TCP/IP, BGP, and OSPF, and hardware such as Cisco and Juniper.
Proficiency with SDWAN (e.g., Meraki), network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios), and ServiceNow.
Experience with cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure) and network security best practices.
Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working with third-party suppliers.
Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or JNCIP or the equivalent.
