Purpose of the role

To provide tax reporting services across the IAG Group, focusing on the preparation of the Group tax consolidation and external tax reporting; leveraging that expertise for the IAG family as a whole to ensure compliance with tax reporting obligations and appropriate management of tax reporting risk.

Accountabilities
  • Prepare the Group’s tax consolidation and associated internal and external reporting templates and tax disclosures, such that all deliverables are provided on a timely basis.
  • Review OpCo tax reporting packs for consistency & accuracy.
  • Be the main point of contact with external and internal auditors on the Group’s tax consolidation & tax disclosures.
  • Review tax reporting system landscape and, working with external advisers, recommend/implement changes to improve automation and drive efficiencies.
  • Identify improvements to tax reporting processes to improve tax controls and processes. Manage and deliver, as appropriate, implementation of the same.
  • Prepare and deliver tax reporting training to the Group Tax team.
  • Monitor developments in tax reporting and recommend changes that may be required to manage the Group’s external tax reporting reputation.
  • Provide insight from review of external tax reporting disclosures by competitors.
  • Provide tax reporting advice on implications arising from commercial transactions including day to day transactions, restructuring transactions, organic and inorganic growth.
  • Review the Group’s tax reporting forecasts and provide insight on the Group effective tax rate.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of the Group’s public Country by Country Report.
  • Promote the Group’s tax policy, actively working to secure its implementation.
  • Manage ad hoc internal and external requests.
Required skills & experience
  • ACA qualified accountant with minimum 6 years IFRS tax reporting experience with an in-house tax function and/or professional services firm. Chartered tax adviser preferred.
  • A proactive approach to work to acquire knowledge and awareness of the business activities.
  • Deep knowledge of IAS12 and IAS34.
  • Strong and demonstrable tax reporting technical skills.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills.
  • Excellent judgment and the ability to make decisions dynamically and assess acceptable levels of business risks. Capable of making decisions in complex environments.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Good organizational & control of his/her work skills. Ability to carry out and manage tax projects autonomously to short timeframes. Stress resistance. Accuracy in his/her work.
  • Team working: Good team worker: helps to build or enhances Tax and Business networks to make work more effective.
  • Commitment to complete the tasks and projects assigned.
  • Initiative and flexibility: the candidate should be able to identify improvements to improve speed and efficiency; and capable of adapting easily to changing environments.
  • Previous exposure to process and risk management techniques preferred.
