The role:
This role has responsibility for shaping the transformation to Build a Better BA and ensuring that the transformation will deliver the improvements needed to meet our vision and performance objectives across financial, operational, customer, colleague and sustainability. This role will lead a team to 1) problem solve key issues across Directorates, 2) support ideation and 3) innovation.
What you’ll do:
- Lead efforts to identify gaps, risks and opportunities within the Transformation plan; enabled by quantitative insights and a strong network.
- Spearhead work on behalf of BA Management Committee and senior leaders across BA to shape our transformation roadmap to ensure alignment between our initiatives and our objectives.
- Be responsible for end-to-end problem solving on key enterprise topics; from refining problem statements through to formulating recommendations on interventions we can take.
- Lead the design and management of transformation initiatives, particularly those that involve multiple Directorates.
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with senior stakeholders and the [Transformation Leadership team peers] to ensure initiatives are effectively set-up and resourced.
- Build and champion a high-performance team, encouraging a culture of innovation, collaboration and pace.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, especially at the executive and senior leader level, to deliver the maximum possible progress at the lowest possible level of organisational escalation.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of organisational architecture and structure, to build stronger links between Directorates at every level.
What you’ll bring to British Airways:
- Demonstrable experience of problem solving in a complex environment
- Ability to effectively lead and motivate individuals & teams (direct/indirect), working collaboratively to delivery results.
- Good individual and team management
- Champions a one team approach across varied teams
- Ability to work under pressure and handle complex and often unique issues crafting relevant clarity in areas of ambiguity to enable decision making
- Ability to implement plans to overcome obstacles and achieve goals.
- Ability to develop and implement ideas that benefit our business, using your internal and external insight
- Financial acumen, understanding of financial principles to evaluate the economic impact of transformation initiatives and oversee budgets effectively.
- Familiarity with digital tools and technologies that support transformation efforts, including data analytics and process automation.
- Openness to new ideas and approaches, with the ability to drive innovation within the organization.
Your experience:
- Degree or equivalent experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Experience in a Management Consultancy is advantageous but not essential.
- Experience in shaping of strategic change is essential
