A career without limits

As the nation’s flag carrier, we take great pride in connecting Britain with the world and the world with Britain.

It’s something we’ve been doing for over 100 years, ever since we launched the world’s first international scheduled air service between London and Paris.

This originality has been in our blood since day one. It’s the spirit we share with the people that fly with us, our partners, and our colleagues.

So, whether you are a reassuring voice on the end of a phone, a smile at the door, under a wing keeping the turbines spinning or landing us gently in far-flung places, a job at British Airways is yours to make.

We know great things can happen when you’re inspired to think big and bring your ambition to work every day, which is why, at British Airways the sky is never the limit.

The role: HCM Implementation Executive

We are embarking on one of the most ambitious transformation programmes led by our People team—redesigning how we deliver HR services and elevate the colleague experience at British Airways. This isn’t just a system change; it’s a people-first reinvention of our HR function, enabled by Oracle Fusion.

As an HCM Implementation Executive, you will play a vital role in supporting the successful delivery of this transformation. Working closely with Functional Leads, you will contribute to the design, configuration, testing, and rollout of Oracle HCM Cloud modules. This is a hands-on role that offers the opportunity to work at the heart of a fast-paced, high-impact programme that will shape the future of HR at British Airways.

What you’ll do

  • Work alongside Global Process Owners (GPOs) and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to understand business needs, objectives, and challenges across HR processes.
  • Support the System Integrator in the design, mapping, and configuration of Oracle HCM modules, including Core HR, Talent Management, Workforce Compensation, Absence Management, and Recruitment.
  • Assist in documenting functional design specifications, configuration guides, and business process maps to ensure clarity and alignment.
  • Develop and execute test scripts for unit and system integration testing, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate that solutions meet business requirements.
  • Contribute to data migration activities, including reconciliation and validation of migrated data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure Oracle HCM integrates effectively with other enterprise systems.
  • Support go-live activities such as cutover planning, user training, and hypercare support to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Stay informed on Oracle HCM enhancements and best practices to help identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Provide ad-hoc support and cover for other team tasks as required.

What you’ll bring to British Airways

  • A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving project environment.
  • Experience working on complex projects, with a focus on supporting successful change and transformation initiatives.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise effectively with stakeholders across different levels and functions.
  • A problem-solving mindset, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively under pressure.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work.
  • The ability to break down complex issues and competing priorities into clear, actionable steps.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with strong root cause analysis and process improvement skills.

Your experience

You will bring hands-on experience and a solid understanding of the HR function, with exposure to one or more of the following areas: Core HR, HR Queries Management, Absence Management, Compensation, Recruitment, or Onboarding. You’ve worked in fast-paced project environments where collaboration, adaptability, and delivery focus are key. Your background enables you to navigate HR processes confidently and build trusted relationships with stakeholders. Working Knowledge of Oracle Fusion is desirable.
