The role:Aircraft Interiors Design Executive 

We have an exciting opportunity in the Customer & Brand directorate to join the Aircraft Interiors Development team as an Aircraft Interiors Design Executive, to help define & implement the vision for BA's aircraft interior experience in line with the business plan and brand strategy, while taking responsibility for design specifications & standards and helping to maintain a consistent, market leading experience.

What you’ll do:

You will have the opportunity to develop the aircraft interior design strategy and develop product specifications for a portfolio of cabin products, including the look and feel. You will ensure the design is insight-driven and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure suppliers deliver to the agreed specifications. You will lead design efforts, managing third-party design agencies as required, and ensuring senior stakeholder buy-in is achieved. You will monitor and develop insights from ongoing product performance and drive innovation projects. 

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

We're looking for a highly creative candidate who has proven experience in identifying emerging trends, who has a strong ability to think in 3D, visualising problems and their solutions and who has:

  • A customer focused mindset
  • An eye for detail and is a strong, passionate communicator
  • The ability to use customer insight to support decision making
  • The ability to work across teams and influence change
  • A proven track record of delivering projects on time and befitting the audience
  • An in-depth understanding of drivers of customer experience and brand loyalty
  • Knowledge and experience with diversity of materials and manufacturing processes
  • An appreciation of certification requirements affecting aircraft interiors developments

Your experience:

  • Ideally degree or MFA in Design, Industrial Design, Colour & Materials, or equivalent experience
  • Efficient use of digital tools – Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • Ideally 3 plus years of experience in relevant field & w/ industry suppliers
  • Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences
  • Significant experience of product/proposition development and the process that takes us from initial insights through to a fully specified product/proposition
