The role:

Reliability & Programme Engineer

Drive improvements in the fleet reliability through the effective monitoring of defect analysis, Technical Dispatch Reliability and development of the maintenance programme. To ensure the BAEF fleet is reliable and maintained in accordance with regulatory and manufacturer requirements, through the effective management of reliability and maintenance programmes, with an awareness of safety, security, quality and cost effectiveness within a heavily competitive industry.

What you’ll do:

  • Effective monitoring and analysis of repetitive defects to make recommendations to contracted supplier of maintenance with respect to effective rectification.
  • Using maintenance ground systems monitor the fleet status, and work with supplier to provide proactive interventions recommendations for improved fleet reliability and AOG prevention.
  • Support contracted maintenance supplier with the production of work scopes to complete remedial action and management of work scopes through to closure.
  • Supply the Fleet Reliability Programme with data insights, including the production and analysis of all associated statistical information.
  • Support the setting and monitoring the alert levels required to ensure an effective reliability programme.
  • Support the Maintenance and Programmes Engineer with the Approved Maintenance Programme through reliability analysis.

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

  • Ability to plan and prioritise own workload
  • A flexible and ‘hands –on’ approach to the role and supporting the other areas of the operation as required
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver to challenging deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to work on own initiative without supervision as required
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to travel to various locations within the UK and Europe

Your experience:

  • Either an engineering licence or an engineering degree (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of grade C GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent
  • Knowledge of business, regulatory and operating environment
  • Working knowledge of CAA/EASA Part-CAMO and Part-M requirements
  • Technical Services experience
  • Experience of the aircraft certification, technical support and maintenance from a practical and continued airworthiness viewpoint
  • Data collection and analysis
  • Production of management information on reliability
