The role:

Lead Auditor

Salary: £51,000-£56,000

To be responsible for the completion of oversight activity in accordance with the approved Performance-based audit schedule. To lead audits providing guidance to postholders/third parties where appropriate in support of continuous improvement in Air Operations and/or CAMO area when needed.

What you’ll do:

  • To monitor compliance with industry regulation, including but not limited to, UK Law 965-2012 Air Ops and Part CAMO & Part M, IATA and Safety and Security regulations. In addition, to monitor compliance against BAEF Operations manuals and procedures, Airworthiness manuals and procedures, BAEF Safety and Security systems and any other company documentation as required. 
  • To perform and co-ordinate all aspects of audit/inspection oversight activity in a Lead Auditor role or individually for Air Operations and/or CAMO functions. Including planning scope, preparing checklists to ensure all required Regulatory and Company aspects are included and completion through to closure.
  • To manage audit findings and ensure closure within in a timely manner, including monitoring progress of corrective actions to ensure accurate root cause analysis and effective preventative actions are established.
  • Assist/host external audits where required and co-ordinate responses to any non-compliance identified.
  • To support IAG group auditors with compliance monitoring functions and enquiries.
  • To support the Compliance Department in providing independent oversight of the sub-contracted and contracted Part CAMO, Part-M, Air Operations, Ground Operations and Part 145 activities.
  • To lead and/or assist company safety investigations.
  • To review SAFA/SANA reports and manage co-ordinated responses to the appropriate authority.
  • To support the compliance department in the development of the Compliance Management System to not only ensure continued compliance with Regulatory/Company procedures and best practice but encourage continual improvement

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

  • Self-motivated individual with drive and vision to achieve continual improvement through change.
  • A good communicator with excellent influencing skills.
  • Able to think laterally and suggest alternatives methods for continued compliance and improvement throughout the organisation and with external stakeholders.
  • Able to operate efficiently under pressure.
  • Able to produce succinct reports for senior management highlighting any issues in a concise manner.
  • Excellent Attention to Detail.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
  • Flexible to travel within the UK and overseas.

Your experience:

  • Grade C Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent)
  • Auditor qualification
  • Lead Auditor qualification (Desirable)
  • Part CAMO (regulations oversight course) (Desirable)
  • MEDA/Safety Investigators Qualification (Desirable)
