The role: BA Cityflyer Fleet Performance Engineer
Salary: £58,000 - £68,000 per annum
Working office hours within the Line Maintenance Control Team (Maintrol team). The Fleet Performance Engineer manages and develops BA Cityflyer’s preventative maintenance programme and leads the airlines predicative maintenance philosophy for our fleet of Embraer E190 aircraft. With a focus on the highest levels of aircraft reliability this role helps ensure we carry our passengers safely, and on time, to their desired destination.
What you’ll do:
Using multiple data sources, you’ll identify the maintenance tasks, outside or scheduled maintenance programme, required to keep our fleet flying without interrupting our scheduled operations. These requirements will be communicated to our line and base engineering teams using Engineering Technical Requirements, work instructions, in a timely manner to address repetitive, latent, and active aircraft defects.
This role ensures continued focus on Technical Dispatch Reliability from an Operational and reliability perspective to meet the company’s targets. You should be able to demonstrate the effectiveness of this roll by developing, maintaining, and presenting operational and performance reports.
In addition to the predictive analytical element of this role you’ll act as a technical expect on our fleet, being able to support the Maintrol Team with ad-hoc shift cover and guidance on troubleshooting complex issues and repetitive defects.
You’ll collaborate with our Safety Service and Air Ops teams on the review of Flight Data conditional events, interpreting the flight data recorders, for required Engineering follow-up requirements.
What you’ll bring to British Airways:
- Ability to make decisions based on sound rationale and technical knowledge.
- Sound analytical skills - ability to manipulate, analyse and report on complex data
- Able to work under pressure and deliver against challenging targets
- Ability to travel to various locations within the UK and Europe
- Ability to hold a full airside pass
- Communicate the right information in the right way and effectively with the team you work in.
- Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and appropriately at all levels, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
- Ability to influence at all levels
- Able to work under pressure and deliver against challenging targets
- IT Skills (Advanced Excel and preferably some coding/SQL/data analytics and aircraft health monitoring Applications)
- Ability to influence at all levels
- Knowledge of the Embraer E-Jet family of aircraft
Your experience:
- CAA Part-66 B1/B2 licence or equivalent engineering technical qualification
- Type rating on Embraer E190 aircraft, or experience within a similar technical support/technical services role
- Working knowledge of CAA/EASA Part-CAMO, Part-M and Part 145 requirements
- Technical Services experience
- Experience of the aircraft certification, technical support and maintenance from a practical and continued airworthiness viewpoint
- Knowledge of Airline business, regulatory and operating environment
