About the role

The first dedicated Ski Account Manager at British Airways Holidays. To be central in the development of a new ski product proposition for one of the UK largest tour operators. British Airways Holidays is thriving, and we are excited to be investing in our ski offering to customers and need someone to own, develop and drive it forward! Making an immediate impact with high visibility and senior support of what you are delivering.

For someone who is passionate about skiing this is a career changing opportunity to develop the detail of a new ski product proposition. The role would suit someone with ski experience in a product or commercial role. The role will manage the end to end delivery, so you need to be happy to get stuck in. You need to be driven, deliver commercial decisions, have credibility with senior stakeholders and relish the ownership of the ski area.

What you will be doing

  • Accountable for the management and product supply strategy. Ensuring commercial opportunities with key ski partners are optimised and commercial targets are delivered.
  • Accountable for buying the Destination product portfolio. Taking ownership of agreeing optimal commercial terms with designated accounts.
  • Managing commercial performance.Working with commercial analysis and yield to understand the competitiveness of pricing from managed accounts. Accountable for tender, negotiation and execution of key contracts with strategic supplier partners. Identify opportunities to exploit promotional and PR activity in respect of product / supplier opportunities
  • Quality Assurance. Ensure product meet British Airways Holidays standards and that supply partners understand and abide with Health, Fire & Safety policies
  • Working successfully with a variety of internal stakeholders. You can only deliver in this role through collaboration with others.

What you will bring:

  • A self-starter. This is a brand-new ski focused role to British Airways Holidays, so the opportunity is huge. You’ll come armed with plenty of ski knowledge, ideas and energy to supercharge ski in our business.  
  • We’re looking for a talented hands-on team member who will get stuck in and own the end-to-end delivery.
  • Proven experience in a commercial / contracting or product role, with specific knowledge of ski is a must.
  • Proven knowledge of market trends, the online travel landscape, tour operations, and the Ski product within the travel industry  
  • Commercially driven. You need to be able to monitor and react to commercial performance and make successful commercial decisions.
  • You’re a natural when it comes to building relationships and working collaboratively. You will work with other Account and Destination Managers who own different commercial relationships. You’ll recognise the opportunity to share expertise and ideas back and forth with the team.
  • Represent Ski to senior stakeholders, and be our subject matter aspect.
  • As we are on a journey of transformation, experience of being comfortable working in grey. We’re looking for somebody who has experience in building cohesive long-term plans but can also respond to emerging information and short-term pivots. Flexible and adaptable is key.

To help you decide whether you would like to apply for this role, as a guide, a typical salary in this role is around £45,000-£50,000 per annum (this may vary depending on your relevant skills and experience), plus benefits.

Our offices are based in Crawley and we offer hybrid working (within the UK).  Generally, this role works from our offices twice a week, with additional days as needed depending on meetings etc.  Office days are co-ordinated so that colleagues in the same team are in the office together to collaborate in person.  We usually support new colleagues in the office full time for the first four-six weekswith us.  There is no travel with the role.
