About The Role
Here at British Airways Holidays, a lot of our hotel suppliers pay via virtual payment rather than by invoice, leading to a more efficient payment process. You will receive communication either by email or telephone from a huge number of international hotel suppliers across the globe to assist them with processing payments in any currency via this platform. This communication may also be received via another department within British Airways Holidays.
In a brilliant small team where there is a strong emphasis on teamwork, pulling together for the overall delivery. You will be undertaking double entry General Ledger work and assisting with reconciling accounts including month end preparation. You will arrange for sufficient funds to maintain the accessibility of the virtual credit card pools.
This is a busy, high volume, multi-tasking role. You need to be incredibly organised to be able to quickly assist and troubleshoot any issues and to work to multiple deadlines.

About The Role
- You will be reconciling the charged from American Express in USD, EUR, and GBP
- Posting entries on our General Ledger system
- Undertake double entry General Ledger work
- Take ownership for investigating and resolving all queries raised by the Virtual payment process
- Accountable for reviewing and preparing regular payments to American Express
- Build a positive relationship with internal and external customers
- Accountable for accounting adjustments on holiday bookings
- Accountable for preparing and reconciling allocated balance sheet accounts
- Be able to produce and work with Pivot tables in Excel
What you will bring:
- Proven experience in a finance role
- Proven experience with undertaking General Ledger
- Proven experience in carrying out reconciliations
- Proven experience in using several financial systems
- Proven ability to work with a high volume of queries that need to be turned around quickly
- Analytical and logical thinking to troubleshoot queries quickly and accurately update financial data.
- Able to demonstrate communication & interpersonal skills as you work with a huge variety of suppliers.
- Ability to work with Pivot tables in Excel
What we can offer you
Up to £27,000 per annum salary (this may vary depending on your relevant skills and experience)
Our offices are based in central Crawley, and we offer hybrid working (within the UK only). Generally, this role works from our office one day a week, with additional days as needed depending on meetings etc, Office days are co-ordinated so that colleagues in the same team are in the office together to collaborate in person.
We usually support new colleagues in the office full time for the first few weeks. This can be extended to allow training to completed to a satisfactory level.
