The role:
Junior Technician
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Component Technician to join our dynamic Production Department. You will be responsible for the assembly, disassembly, cleaning, testing, and repair of BAMC aircraft components. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical knowledge, a proactive mindset, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
What you’ll do:
- Assemble, disassemble, clean, and test BAMC components as directed.
- Use BAMC’s computer systems for work recording and tracking.
- Comply with all Health, Safety, Fire & Environmental policies and procedures.
- Uphold company quality standards and procedures at all times.
- Carry out additional tasks within the Production Department that align with your training and experience.
- Display flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Champion BAMC’s values, behaviours, and ways of working.
What you’ll bring to British Airways:
- Appropriate hand skills for stripping, cleaning, repairing, and overhauling aircraft components.
- Ability to use basic test equipment in workshop environments.
- Proficient in interpreting and applying component maintenance data and regulatory requirements.
- Computer literacy, including navigating online systems for compliance and training.
- Capable of soldering and de-soldering as required.
- Demonstrates a can-do attitude with innovative problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Integrity and professionalism in all areas of work.
Your experience:
- A minimum of 3 GCSE passes (or equivalent) including Maths, English, and a Science subject or
- A relevant NVQ/GNVQ/C&G within an engineering discipline plus 1-year relevant vocational training
