The role:

SEP Technician

As an SEP Technician you will maintain the SEP training equipment and design, manufacture additional training equipment as required by IAG stakeholders

What you’ll do:

• Maintains designated SEP equipment and Fire ground to ensure they meet BA’s Flight and Cabin Crew Training requirements and those of BA’s external flight training customers IAW regulation
• Delivers direct support to the pilots, cabin crew and engineering teams who use the SEP equipment when required to resolve technical faults
• Instructs BAFT external customers in the functional use and safe operation of SEP equipment when required
• Design and manufacture complex training equipment as requested by IAG stakeholders
• Operates commercial and non-commercial visits
• Relocates training devices and equipment when necessary
• Orders spare parts and technical components as necessary to maintain SEP equipment and manage obsolescence
• Investigate equipment cost saving solutions
• Assists with Simulator engineering duties when required to support the simulator training equipment and facilities
• Ensures a safe working environment compliant with Health & Safety legislation
• Acts a Fire warden for the SEP hall

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

• Good communication and team-working skills with the ability to train and mentor colleagues
• A broad experience of the technical disciplines employed in Cabin crew training equipment
• Self-motivating and managing within a pressured environment
• Strong prioritisation and planning skills
• Able to plan, prioritise and manage change
• Proven ability to solve complex and sometimes intermittent problems on integrated computer controlledCabin and Door trainers 
• Proven diagnostic, trouble shooting and problem-solving skills on both leading edge and obsolete technology

Your experience:

• City and guilds Level 3, Ordinary National Certificate (ONC) or equivalent
• Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent
• Simulated cabin, door OEM training (desirable)
• Experience in the engineering disciplines encompassing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, computing hardware, PLC’s, hydraulic systems, carpentry, mechanical fabrication and visual displays 
• Basic software procedures
• Experience of working within a team and be self[1]managing
• Demonstrated experience in complex mechanical systems
