South Terminal & Atlantic House
The work experience programme at Gatwick provides an insight into the range of roles available at the South Terminal and at Atlantic House, which is the main hub for behind-the-scenes action at London Gatwick.
During this placement, you’ll spend time with a variety of teams in both areas to see how we’re a modern airline for modern Britain. From assisting at check-in to welcoming customers to our executive lounges, you’ll quickly become familiar with our customer-facing operations. You’ll also get the opportunity to explore the Airport Operations Centre. This fast-paced, busy operational environment will enable you to experience what it's like to deliver the unique British Airways service for our business and leisure customers.
Gatwick Engineering at Hangar 6 carries out service checks on our LGW Boeing 777's and Airbus fleets. We also carry out maintenance clean-ups and respond to casualty aircraft, where we have an Operational Support Unit that operates between the ramp and the hangar.
Imagine shadowing engineers working on our aircraft and experiencing all aspects of airframe, engine and avionics systems. You’ll follow the aircraft through its input from start to finish, which will be a great experience if you’re curious about how some of the most modern aircraft works.
