In celebration of our centenary, we have been working in partnership with The Air League Trust to provide gliding scholarships to young people in our local communities.
The success and impact of this initiative means we’ll be launching an expanded 2020 programme where we’ll be funding flying lessons for 200 students across the UK. Details on how to apply will be published on this site in the next few weeks – so keep checking back.
Gliding to Solo
This unique two-week training scholarship includes:
- All your flying fees which equates to approximately 35-40 flights
- Membership fees for the gliding club
- Travel to and from the scholarship location
- Accommodation for the duration of the scholarship
- Food allowance for the duration of the scholarship
- The Air League Trust membership for a year
If you study hard throughout your scholarship and the weather is kind, you should reach solo standard within this course.
