BA Maintenance Cardiff
British Airways Maintenance Cardiff is an EASA PART 145 APPROVED Maintenance Repair Organisation (MRO).
Based at our purpose-built maintenance facility, which in the industry is known as a 'centre of innovation excellence', your work placement will give you a unique and insightful experience of engineering. Located next to Cardiff Airport, we exclusively undertake heavy maintenance of British Airways wide-bodied, long-haul aircraft. Our hangar is a three bay and 2 ’nose- in’ facility operation that can maintain 5 aircraft at any time in world-leading downtimes and quality.
In this placement, you’ll get the opportunity to shadow our highly skilled specialist engineers and technicians. This is the chance to experience working in an engineering environment like no other, working on the Boeing 777, 767, the iconic Boeing 747 and the next generation Boeing 787, known as the Dreamliner.
British Airways Interior Engineering
BAIE was first established as a facility in 1996 and is one of the Wholly Owned Subsidiaries of the South Wales Group.
It’s the repair and overhaul facility for all our seating products including all the World Traveller, Business, First Class and Crew seats. Repair and maintenance of crucial safety items are also included in the scope work of interiors. This includes evacuation systems slides, life jackets, survival packs and baby infant cots. They also repair of interior components including; overhead bins, seats, toilet doors, baby changing tables, toilet compartments and door linings.
During this placement, you’ll have the opportunity to shadow our highly skilled specialist engineers and technicians. You’ll also get an insight into the importance of the cabin for our customers, and how we maintain it in line with our brand.
BA Avionics Engineering (BAAE)
BAAE was first established as a facility in 1993 and is one of the Wholly Owned Subsidiaries within the South Wales Group.
Located in the heart of the South Wales Valleys our avionic component maintenance facility has 142,000 sq. ft of floor space and employs a highly skilled workforce. We maintain a broad range of electrical, electronic and mechanical components with a capability list more than 4,000-part numbers that include Airframe, Accessories and Flight deck aircraft components all of which are repaired using a Continuous Improvement culture where quality and safety is at the centre of everything we do.
During this placement, you’ll have the opportunity to shadow our highly skilled specialist engineers and technicians. You’ll also enjoy working in one of the world’s most advanced avionic repair centres and will gain valuable insight into how these components are maintained.
