Workshop Technician

The Fleet Support Facility within the Aircraft Workshop Services team, is looking for dynamic proactive Workshop Technicians to support the ever changing business demands and to provide Engineering Support to our Customers, and ultimately the BA Operation. Your role would be to perform and certify for repairs and/or maintenance tasks performed in accordance with approved technical data, and in some cases, assist Technical Engineers to design Part.21 repairs, which can be achieved and certified, to meet operational demand. Dependent on work location, you would also be required to support on-wing tasks in the Base Production, on the Line at LHR/LGW or at outstations for 3rd Party or AOG recovery tasks. 

You must possess experience working in one (or more) of the following skills:

  • Composite Materials – fabrication and repair of composite components, dry lay-up / Resin wet lay-ups etc…
  • Sheet Metal fabrication (bending, riveting, welding, heat treating etc)
  • Working in Machine Workshop environment, using equipment such as C&C, Jig Bore, Lathes etc.

The Fleet Support Facility is a unique and bespoke workshop environment, where the team come together to fabricate inventive and complex repair solutions to maintain BA’s aircraft to the highest standard. Are you up to the challenge?

If you are successful in the recruitment to become a Workshop Technician in the FSF, you would be expected to coordinate and manage workload priorities in a safe and secure manner, while delivering world class engineering solutions to our customer.  You need to be an experienced and confident engineer, a flexible team player, able to multitask, lead by example, to enable you to work within an established team within the Aircraft Workshop Services section.  This is an exciting time for British Airways as we emerge from the recent Covid Pandemic, as we enter into a new era of Maintenance activities with new technologies.

PLEASE NOTE: you may be required to work 12hr Shifts, on a 4-on / 4-off rota.
