Role

As a Senior Technical Engineer at British Airways you will provide technical leadership and supervision in the technical community and the wider business with specialist responsibility for managing specific elements of the fleet safety, reliability and operational performance with significant influence on the total operating cost of our fleet.

This aircraft structures specific discipline role requires significant Airbus and/or Boeing structures technical management experience in both repairs and structural airworthiness management with EASA Part-21 repair design experience highly desirable.   

It is a role that will allow you to lead the design and development of innovative technical solutions affecting our fleet by working collaboratively with the manufacturers, component and systems suppliers and your colleagues across the airline. The diverse and extensive fleet means you must be ready to embrace new technologies, learning and leading every day in the implementation of new and better maintenance methodologies and processes. You will manage and develop elements of the approved maintenance programme, carry out safety and technical investigations and implement fleet inspections or modification programmes in consideration of the manufacturer’s recommendations and regulatory requirements.

You will be given support and training to gain appropriate company technical engineer approvals including Part M, Part CAMO, Part 145 and Part 21 design approvals. This is a management grade role with the potential for career development in a broad range of leadership & management roles across the company.
