If this sounds like you, we are looking for a Schedule Planning Executive to play a key role in building our future network. You will have responsibility for delivering our seasonal schedules taking it from commercial concept to operational handover. As a natural problem solver you will work closely with the wider network teams to design a robust and deliverable schedules, trading off slot and aircraft constraints, whilst at all times striving to maximise the commercial result.
The role being offered would initially be responsible for scheduling, however there is the ability to move into a slots focused role as part of longer term career progression.
What you’ll do:
- End to end ownership for design, development and delivery of seasonal schedules typically 2 years out through to 10 days before departure.
- Transform commercial priorities (optimising routes, frequencies, timings, aircraft types, costs etc.) into deliverable plans within agreed operational and customer service parameters.
- Ensure schedules are deliverable, operationally robust and that valuable slot positions are retained for future seasons.
- Generate, capture and share insights that can guide future development of the network, effectively articulating trade-offs to be considered and further embedding a culture of continuous improvement
- Collaborate and influence stakeholders to adapt for changes to the schedule i.e., commercial outlook, engineering plan adjustments, new operational constraints and impact of any disruption, ensuring a robust trade-off occurs across the various constraints.
- Work across all time horizons to develop & support the optimization of the schedule by manipulating and preparing input data (e.g. FAM ECO files) and analysing/validating outputs.
- To support the development of the network through analysis of performance and market trends, through development of schedules (play plans) as required.
- To support the schedule clearance process (e.g. 80-20 slot monitoring, seasonal overflights, management of slot sharing) especially during peak times of activity.
What you’ll bring to British Airways:
- I am extremely resilient, and work calmly and effectively under constant time pressures, always seeking to maintain an exemplary standard.
- I have an excellent working knowledge of the main techniques, processes, systems and data sources used in aircraft scheduling.
- I understand the interaction between the schedule its impact on key operational resource areas and can consider this impact when making schedule change.
- I have good analytical skills, able to work with data, interpret results and communicate recommendations effectively.
- I am articulate and able to communicate effectively to different audiences.
- I effectively influence by building relationships, working collaboratively at all levels.
- I think holistically and creatively to solve multi-dimensional problems .
Your experience:
- I can think holistically and creatively to solve multidimensional problems.
- I regularly turn commercial insights into deliverable outcomes.
- I have a good understanding to the overall BA planning process (across engineering, crewing, ground resourcing commercial) and/or a deep understanding of slot planning.
- I have a good understanding of the BA network and fleet, markets and competitors.
- I have extensive experience of parts of the network planning process and/or proven ability to quickly get to grips with complex processes.
- I have a good understanding of scheduling tools, knowledge of Sabre planning tools (Air Ops, Air Vision, FAM) or similar would be advantageous.
