Privacy Executive/Analyst

This is an excellent opportunity for a Privacy Executive/Analyst to join the Data Privacy team within the Legal department. This is a varied and exciting role, assisting the team in the delivery of its privacy programme requirements at British Airways.

The purpose of the Privacy Executive/Analyst role is to fulfil a variety of specialist legislative requests and to assist in the delivery of its privacy programme. Working together with internal and external partners, the role holder will apply their judgment to ensure accountabilities are delivered in an efficient manner that enables BA to meet its regulatory obligations.

This Privacy Executive/Analyst position requires a strong communicator who is proactive, flexible, resilient and has an organised approach in providing a variety of specialist duties. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who will be an important part of the Data Privacy team at British Airways. Working together with both internal and external partners, applying judgment in ensuring accountabilities are delivered enabling BA to meet its regulatory obligations in the Privacy field will be an important part of this role.

What you’ll be doing

As a Privacy Executive/Analyst, you will:

  • Be accountable for applying sound judgement to process Data Subject Access Requests of varying complexity including; interrogating multiple system inputs to identify content, using knowledge and understanding of Data Protection regulations to compile an appropriate disclosure bundle and respond to individuals in line with established parameters and within the legal time frame.
  • Assist the Data Protection Officer with ICO regulatory complaints through the retrieval of data and producing evidence for official responses.
  • Interrogate systems to produce management information on team activity enable the regular monitoring of compliance with obligations.
  • Provide support to the Data Protection team with the use of privacy software tooling and the delivery of training and awareness activities this includes monitoring reports and identifying areas of non-compliance.
  • Monitor team communication channels and ensure that correspondence is acknowledged and responded to in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and maintain templates and web-forms as a ‘super-user’ of the appropriate reporting systems in use at the time.
  • Be responsible for maintaining the content of the departmental intranet pages as required in collaboration with all departmental colleagues.

Qualifications / experience

  • Experience of working together across the organisation in a regulated environment
  • Experience of aligning with Data Protection regulations/requirements in the UK
  • Awareness and experience of data protection legislation around the world (desirable)
  • Awareness of compliance or assurance methodologies (desirable)
