If you think airline logistics is all about moving bags, then think again. If thinking creatively is your forte, and you’re comfortable with rolling your sleeves up, this is the programme for you. You’ll play a pivotal role in moving everything from avocados to zebras and diamonds to life-saving drugs. Be prepared to be amazed.
You’ll start straight away on the first in a series of real role placements within IAG Cargo, our specialist logistics business. It's a complex and challenging area that will quickly stretch and develop your people, project management and analytical skills, with placements in the UK and potentially abroad.
Our mission is to be the world’s leading air cargo provider – so we have to be sharper than the competition. You’ll get scope to put ideas forward and contribute to strategic projects, like the development of Critical, our new ‘must-travel’ product.
Your contribution will count. We want you to help ensure our operations teams perform at their optimum – analysing aircraft capacity, mapping out the best routes for planes to fly, and factoring in what products can be flown over which airspaces. All in a sector where unpredictable events such as ash clouds or security threats can change things at a moment's notice.
Through the course of the programme, you will have the opportunity to work with different teams in areas such as Strategy, Marketing, Revenue Management and Operations to name but a few. We have a presence across the world, with hubs in Madrid and Dublin, so you’ll be able to work with colleagues from overseas as well.
Development & Progression
Over two years, you'll experience the pressures and rewards of a business that operates at the heart of the freight transport industry. You'll gain key business capabilities, completing roles in both head office and operational areas, concentrating on the business demands and your own development needs – supported throughout by your programme and line manager. You will also have access to a senior manager who will be able to act as your mentor. On completing the programme, you will be prepared for more senior responsibilities within IAG Cargo.
IAG Cargo is a global freight logistics business formed in April 2011 by the merger of British Airways World Cargo and Iberia Cargo. We are the brains behind ensuring companies and individuals get their precious cargo delivered safely, securely and on time, all over the world. Our passengers often come in all shapes and sizes - quite literally. From rare animals and horses in sleep suits, to pharmaceuticals and gold bullion. We've even ensured the instruments of an international music artist arrived safely for a show.
