The Cargo Planning Manager is the single point of control, command and communications for New Premia IAG Cargo Operations, interacting with the Operations Duty Manager and process areas to deliver the “on the day” operational plan. The automated build by ULD e-load plan will require directing to ensure all build tasks are completed as per the plan. Engages with the IAG Cargo New Premia maintenance provider and iCargo/Cargo Compact business analyst, reports and communicates the New Premia London Operations state of health as well as providing solutions to challenges and issues that can impact CIQ performance. Interpreting signals and early warning systems to identify future risks, the New Premia Cargo Duty Manager is ultimately responsible for the implementation and control of the required mitigation plan through the deployment of area specific contingencies to maintain operational continuity and stability across New Premia.


  • Analyse and interpret complex situations to deliver the most effective operational plan e.g. manage any complex build by ULD scenarios in iCargo and Cargo Compact
  • Monitor and effectively communicate the London Operations state of health to the business e.g. analyse iCargo & Cargo Compact reports/data
  • Owner of Business Contingency Plans for New Premia
  • Ensures on the day plan maximises potential for performance delivery of TPR (True Performance Rate) and NFD (notification that freight and docs are ready for pickup by forwarder)
  • Robust interaction and health checks with IAGIT/Siemens and other suppliers
  • Understand and react to early warning systems and mitigate potential failure using iCargo and Cargo Compac.
  • Work with New Premia Operations Duty Manager and Team Leaders through shift working
  • Support new developments of protocols and early warning systems e.g. iCargo & Cargo Compact
  • Liaise with Service Partners e.g. IAGIT, & Siemens to ensure all systems and interfaces are healthy, reporting appropriately
  • Understands work flow principles and can identify pinch points in the buildings & system processe
  • Interpret a “dashboard” of data/information and deliver to plan against it
  • Live management and monitoring of Flight Lanes
  • Close interaction with operational areas to ensure resource and equipment plans incorporated into forecast
  • Interface and supports with the Department Managers ensuring strict adherence to agreed processes and practices across Wholesale and Retail business areas

Essential Experience

  • Proven leadership skills within a fast-moving operational environment
  • Ability to cross manage internal and external stakeholders
  • Control and command centre experience desirable
  • Proven ability to develop judgements under pressure, prioritise and act decisively and appropriately
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong internal or external networks
  • Operational understanding of requirements of process areas
  • A good understanding of the operational and planning processes of IAG Cargo (preferred)
  • Makes sound decisions based on facts, analysis and relevant experience, balanced with an empathetic and objective approach
