Imagine managing a group of 75 Cabin Crew, or escorting the media on overseas trips as a PR Manager. Picture yourself delivering key parts of our business plan to impact on the bottom line. How about delivering major change projects to transform the customer experience at Heathrow? Or even influencing the investment in, and planning of, our fleet? There are so many ways you could help us progress as a business on this programme.
Over the course of three years you will enjoy hands-on learning and responsibility through a series of placements. During Year 1, you will develop a deep understanding of us and the airline industry, while beginning your leadership development. We’ll set challenges that embed your learning, and also highlight areas of improvement to address.
In Year 2, your responsibility, exposure and autonomy will grow. You’ll learn how to make the most of your specific, individual talents – the unique things you bring to the business. In Year 3, your development will focus on sharpening your strategic thinking, and ensuring you’re ready to transition into the business. There will be opportunities to reflect on your strengths, individual needs and prospective career pathways.
Development & progression
Through real responsibility, you’ll gain specialist knowledge and experience based on the needs of our business. Throughout the programme, your line managers will support and nurture your development – and ensure you are given the chance to learn and practise the skills required for future leadership roles. You’ll also be able to gain an enhanced leadership qualification. After the programme, your career could develop in many different directions – wherever your ambition and our business needs will take you.
You can come from any degree discipline. We are most interested in your drive to succeed, your talent for communication with your ability to think both creatively and strategically. You will have the fearlessness it takes to make change happen, and the composure to interact at senior level. It’s also essential that you have the right to live and work full-time in the UK indefinitely without sponsorship from British Airways.
On this Programme, you could be based in many teams within the British Airways business. You can expect a placement in Heathrow Customer Services and/or our In-flight Customer Services (Cabin Crew) team.
What our people say
British Airways has offered me so many different opportunities; from travelling to Hong Kong, Amman and San Francisco to assess our new service, to playing rugby at Twickenham. The graduate programme has given me great responsibility and I have felt integral to delivering in all of my roles thus far.”
