This Programme is your first step to becoming a Strategic Commercial Advisor and business leader. You’ll join us in a role with real responsibility in the first of three one-year placements. You could soon be working on a project to invest in the latest onboard products, visiting our off-shore teams in Krakow, or coming up with innovative ideas to generate revenue. You can make the most of your quick-thinking, eye for detail, analytical ability and ambition to experience and influence every aspect of our business. We’ll also sponsor you to gain your preferred finance qualification – ICAEW, CIMA or ACCA.
18 November 2019
You’ll go straight into a real role with real responsibility in the first of three one-year placements. You could soon be working on the purchase of new aircrafts, agreeing investments in the latest onboard products, or coming up with innovative ideas to generate revenue.
We want you to influence decisions that are a real catalyst for success. These decisions are significant and can make a huge impact on our bottom line. You’ll be given the go-ahead to challenge the status quo and use your innovative ideas to add value to everything you’re involved with.
We have influential Finance teams sitting in every department. You’ll make the most of your three placements, spending a year absorbing everything you can from a different team. Your network will multiply.
Whichever team you’re with, you’ll quickly become an invaluable asset, gaining exposure to the breadth and depth of challenges that only one of the world's biggest and best-known airlines can provide.
Development & progression
The programme will enable you to hone your Finance acumen and strengthen your relationship-building skills. Your line managers will take a keen interest in your development, and you'll cultivate a network of mentors. We’ll also give you the time and sponsorship to gain your preferred Finance qualification – CIMA, ACCA & ACA (ICAEW) – so you can follow in the footsteps of some of our most successful graduates, whether it's into Finance Business Partnering, Fleet Planning, Strategy or Financial Reporting.
We are looking for a degree (or equivalent) in a course requiring high-level analytical skills. We’ll want to see evidence of your commercial awareness and ability to communicate with, and persuade others. You will also bring a desire to tackle tough challenges that require both creative and strategic thinking. It’s essential that you have the right to live and work full-time in the UK indefinitely without sponsorship from British Airways.
On this programme, you could be based in many teams within the British Airways business.
What our people say
I feel like British Airways support my ambitions by paying for my ACA and giving me time off that allows me to study for the exams. BA also gives me a lot of ownership over projects in the company, making me feel accomplished and teaching skills necessary to get me on my way to my dreams.”
